Monitoring, oppositions and claim charts
Patent work does not end with the filing. PatentFlow watches the publications of competitors, turns a relevant hit into an opposition file, and compares claims feature by feature with documents or products.
Watches in the EPO database
A watch searches the EPO database by applicant, IPC class, keyword and country - or with your own query - daily and on demand. Hits are assessed as relevant or not; for granted European and German patents the opposition period is computed and relevant ones appear with the other deadlines.
"Prepare opposition" creates a file with the attacked patent, the opposition proceeding with its deadline and, when the full text is available, the feature analysis of claim 1.
Claim charts feature by feature
A claim is split into features, which can be adjusted. Each feature is compared with documents - a PDF with OCR, pasted text or the EPO full text - or with products: disclosed, partly, not, or unclear, with location, quote and note.
The AI can pre-fill a column: the document is cut into passages, each feature gets its most relevant passages and the model judges only those. "No passage found" is recorded as unclear, never as not disclosed, and AI cells stay marked until an attorney confirms them. Claim charts are exported to Word.
Proceedings
Infringement, nullity, opposition, appeal and utility-model cancellation proceedings have their forum, case number, role, counterparty and value, deadlines with the usual periods of the UPC, EPO, DPMA, Federal Patent Court and regional courts as a starting point, and exhibits numbered K1, B1, D1 automatically.
